'Puygrenier' is located 2km from the village of Villefranche de Lonchat, a 'bastide anglaise' - a fortified village - founded in 1280 by Edward I of England. Spend a day wandering its ancient streets and visiting the museum to discover the long history of the town and the area. See the beautiful Notre Dame church or peruse the market in the village square on Tuesday mornings. Or you can visit the other nearby villages of Francs (3km), the charming village of Saint-Philippe-d'Aiguille (7km) as well as several other hamlets and villages dotted around our area. At Montcaret (13km) you can visit the fascinating Gallo-Roman villa and there are numerous churches and buildings in the Romanesque Gothic style within 30 minutes of 'Puygrenier'. And of course we are in near proximity to the wonderful world heritage town of St. Emilion (19km).
If travelling further, you may wish to venture west to the city of Bordeaux (55km/50 minutes). Or travel east through the Dordogne to the amazing prehistoric cave paintings at Lascaux. In fact, from gourmet food and world beating wines to historic attractions and great climate - This region of the Dordogne/Gironde really does offer a fantastic opportunity to relax and explore.

including hoopoes, red kites, black kites, owls and other birds which we have yet to identify.
